InMon-ster: Deathly Living Scrolls
I wasn’t planning to post anything today; but Billie Jo tempted me with her entry for BeKindWrite’s celebratory Birthday Inspirational Monday post InMon-ster: Deadly Papers.
The prompts I had to work with are:
Deadly paper / The city that never wakes / Deafening / Last place you look / They took it away
BeKindWrite was not mean with the rules; therefore we had free reign on how to work the pieces; the only condition was to use the prompts (all or a few) in any way we may interpret it.
I could not wait to sink my teeth into this. I hope you enjoy what my muse became.
Deathly Living Scrolls
It stank of all things putrid;
life, decaying.
My sunken feet disintegrating in gluke
-their deafening vile life forms
gnawing into flesh, hammering away.
Pain searing, my skin burning
-yet I still hide, the last place you’ll look;
never waking city
-except its’ crippling invisible organisms;
alive, they’re very much alive,
sinking their nashers’
on soft, moist skin
it bleeds –oh how it bleeds
-yet still I hide,
in putrid things that stink;
life, sleeping, decaying.

Please note: There will be some changes coming to the schedule at yikici (it’s been too manic and I have not been able to adhere to it as I had intended to; therefore, some pacing will be considered); I will post an article soon(ish) with the full lowdown, until then keep an eye out for posts that will likely to turn-up unannounced.
Stay good and keep that sunshine smile-a-going.

Ouch! Devine writing! But yeah … ouch!
Seriously, this is one of my favourite pieces of yours.
