‘Alo-ween to y’all NaNoWriMo’s with a Blah-Blogging and an Ominous MIA Attempt…

Monday’s (Muwahahahahaaaaaa) Meandering Muse:

An ‘appy ‘Alooo-weeeen to you-aaaaaaaaaallllllllllll…  Muwahahahahaaaaaa.  Halloween’s been and nearly gone in the UK (it’s not that huge over in my part of the woods, so there are no interesting ghoulish stories to tell); besides I’m not a huge Halloween follower (my stories say otherwise I know!).  However; this year, to mark the occasion, I managed to write one spooky story Sarahann’s Warning; this I have decided to enter into a competition.  Haley Whitehall devised a Horror Flash Fiction Contest -seeing Haley introduced me to Flash Fictions, it’s only fitting that I should enter this competition -so I did.  Please pop over to Haley’s blog and check out the other entries too. :)

NaNoWriMo – Get Set, Gooooooooooooo!

Oh!  I soooooooooooooo wanted to take part this year; but sadly life has decided there are other more important things to tend to…  (Which I am begrudgingly agreeing to -see below.  Though having said that, this is something I need to do.)  Where I cannot take part in, I will do my best to cheer you all on (when I can -I should really say if I can) so, have fun, don’t stress and keep those cheery smiles on your faces as you merrily type along.  I wish you all the bestest success. :D

Blah-Blogging & ROW80 Update

There’s a lot of talk and whispers going on in the blogosphere about blog-fatigue -huh? you say; -I said that too; but the more I think about it the more it all makes sense.  For the past few weeks (to a month or two now) I have been feeling a little worn-out, I couldn’t place what the cause may be; seeing I have not really been over-exerting myself, then I read an article by Sonia Medeiros on blog fatigue and then another by Nathan Bransford and Anne R. Allen.  Something then made sense and I realised I have been trying too hard to keep up with writing articles for the blog, visiting/reading my favourite blogs, keeping tabs with Twitter/Facebook/Google+ and then my emails…  This is not a healthy combination -especially for me seeing my recent panic attacks have been re-surfacing every once in a while.  As many of you would know, I took to writing in December 2010 as it helped me focus my attention to something other than the panic attacks and this was working just fine until I started to automatically go into my perfectionist-mode.  (A blessing and a curse whichever way you would like to look at it!); soon all my good intentions became cloudy and tainted; (sadly) suffocation comes to mind.  These last few weeks I have found it difficult to stay focus, be a good support to my fellow critique pals and also my promise to complete a betareading project has been left in mid-swing as has the online course with Tiffany Lawson (I didn’t even get round to staring it let alone finish it :( ).

On top of this, English is my second language (believe it or not I spoke Turkish first -ironically it’s not as good as my English now).  In addition, I have been told that I have language-related dyslexic tendencies; these hinder my speed when reading and hence the blog-hopping madness becomes that much more difficult for me.  Mind you, this does not mean I hate any part of the blogging-world; it’s just right now it has become a little too much for me and I need a break; a break to calm my rising panic, a break to spend time with my family, a break to think, prepare and come back with better functioning plan.

yikici’ Ponders what a Good MIA Attempt Might be…

For these reasons alone, I need to be MIA until December 15th 2011.  I did plan to have blog posts scheduled for the duration I will be AWOL; however, due to my unplanned panic attacks and the recent low moods I have been unable to do so.  Therefore, I cannot promise a fantastically scheduled blog, it will be somewhat erratic and at times sparse and maybe even old posts will make an appearance here and there…  There’s a few good guest bloggers that will hopefully make an appearance and also author interviews -again, this all depends how I manage to be motivated enough to put the posts together…  I apologise from now if the next few weeks are not up to the yikici standards; I just am not able to concentrate at this current moment, I hope you can understand and are willing to accept my MIA moments.  Until December 15th, this is yikici signing out…

My Questions to You

Do you have any haunting/amusing Halloween stories to tell?  How has the blogosphere been treating you?  Any tips on how we can survive the mayhem?  NaNoWriMo -what’s your plans to get through it?  Going MIA -cool or not?
